RHP gets major grant for the historic Case Mansion

Roblee Historic Preservation, LLC is proud to share that the First Presbyterian Church of Auburn was awarded $141,867 in New York State funding through the 15th round of the Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) initiative for the restoration of the historic Case Mansion through the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) grant.

RHP provided consultant, outreach, and drafting for the EPF grant.

Designed by Coolidge, Shepley, Bulfinch & Abbott (aka Shepley Bullfinch; Harvard Medical School, Art Institute of Chicago) in the Renaissance Revival style and constructed between 1929 and 1931 as the residence of industrialist Theodore W. Case, the Case Mansion now serves as the First Presbyterian Event and Retreat Center.

The awarded funds will support repair and replacement of the historic slate roof, addressing critical threats to the building’s long-term preservation.

Continuing research and education in 2026

RHP is committed to constant improvement in all that we do, whether it is the quality of research in our reports and narratives or the style in our graphic presentation.

One of the things RHP is striving to enhance in 2026 is its knowledge of the material sciences. This is the foundation of all historic properties.

Since the historic properties of yesterday we choose to save speak volumes about the values we have today, a deeper understanding of how building materials, the environment, and time affect our most cherished resources will help inform the most sensitive treatment for them, and consequently, carry the message of their respective stories.

Here's to continuing to learn and grow!

RHP introduces revamped YouTube Channel

RHP is happy to present an introductory video on its new revitalized YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/e87YkiKj

Through 2026, we hope to provide a space to reflect on historic preservation work, including projects in progress, lessons learned, research questions, and the realities of working across architecture, history, policy, and community engagement.

The format will be informal and concise, intended to make complex preservation work more transparent and accessible.

If you’re interested in preservation planning, National Register work, adaptive reuse, or the broader cultural and professional context around saving historic places, we would be glad to have you follow along.
